60is

Digital Astrophotography with the TeleVue 60is

At the 2005 Texas Star Party I saw a prototype of the TeleVue 60is imaging system and fell in love with it. Later that year by a great stroke of fortune I was asked by Astronomy Magazine to do a review of this new imaging telescope. As readers of the September, 2006, issue of ASTRONOMY have seen, I was very impressed with the instrument....so much so that I refused to give it back! I bought it so I could keep it. Now that the review article has been published, I am free to display images that I have taken through the 60is with my Hap Griffin IR mod Canon 300D camera.. I think you will see the 60is is quite a performer!

A Look the the Philips 900NC Webcam

I removed this web page about the 900NC during a website cleanup in the summer of 2006. I did not know that a British magazine had published a link to this page. I have therefore reinstated the details about the 900NC, particularly how to remove the lens from the camera. Sorry if I inconvenienced anyone by removing this earlier.

Adventures With Urban Long-Duration Star Trails

A look at how you can use a digital camera to make super long-duration star trail images from an urban location that are better than any taken with a film camera at a dark sky location.

Hi-Res Webcam

Adventures With High-Resolution Webcam Lunar Mosaics

How I created high-resolution images of the entire lunar disk by assembling mosaics of detailed, but narrow-field, webcam images.
