3 Ways To Know It's Your Intuition
Jul 17, 2026
When you were born into this life, you were given an unbreakable connection back to Heaven which allows you to gain clarity and insight for any situation. That lifeline is called your intuition.
This is how God, your angels, and loved ones who have passed, communicate with you. And while it can be a little different from picking up the phone and having a chat, you can learn to build a connection that's just as powerful.
Everyone has intuition, but sometimes it can be difficult to tell whether a message is coming from your intuition or simply your own thoughts.
So today I want to share three of my favourite ways to recognise a moment of Divine guidance.
1. Hold a high-energy item
When you receive a message that you're unsure of, try this simple but powerful exercise.
Choose a crystal you enjoy working with, or a beautiful fresh flower. Hold it in your hands, close your eyes and take a few moments to connect with its energy.

You might feel a tingling sensation, warmth, or simply a sense of peace as your mind becomes quieter. You don't have to experience anything dramatic for this exercise to be helpful.
Now, think back to the message you received. Ask God, your angels or your intuition to help you understand it more clearly.
Pay attention to what comes through. Do you receive the same message again? Perhaps something new comes through that helps you understand the original guidance. Or you might simply feel a stronger sense of clarity and trust about what you received.
Don't worry if nothing happens straight away. Sometimes we become so focused on trying to receive a message that we make it harder for ourselves to relax and listen. You can always come back to the exercise another time.
True Divine guidance comes through on a high vibration, and by raising your vibration with the crystal or flower, you are lifted above lower energies and fear-based thoughts.
This can make it easier to recognise your intuition without getting caught up in worrying about whether you've received the message correctly.
2. Notice a repeating message
Have you ever received a thought that wouldn't go away? Perhaps you've had something on your mind that just kept popping up for weeks until you finally did something about it?
Your angels love you and want you to have the best experiences that life can bring. That's why they don't simply give up when you miss a message.
Sometimes we miss the guidance the first time around. Maybe we thought it was just our own thoughts or wishful thinking. But when a message comes from your intuition, you may find that it keeps returning, gently reminding you to pay attention.
Of course, not every repeating thought is intuitive guidance. Our worries can repeat themselves too!
One helpful distinction is to notice what the thought is actually bringing you. Is it simply going around in circles, creating more fear and confusion? Or does it keep drawing your attention towards something useful that you hadn't considered before?
It can also be helpful to purify your energy and quieten your mind before revisiting a message. Sometimes a little space makes it easier to recognise what you're receiving.
3. You know more than you logically should
Our fear-based mind likes to confuse us with stressful and anxious thinking. It will often use situations that we're going through and make them feel much worse than they really are. Your intuition does the opposite.
Your intuition can bring through pieces of a situation that you shouldn't logically know.
For example, imagine you're worried about a young relative or child. They've become withdrawn, seem to dislike school and generally appear unmotivated.
Your fear-based mind might focus on the details you already know, such as worrying about their learning, homework, friendships or whether they're being bullied.
However, your intuition might bring through an insight you hadn't considered. Perhaps you're suddenly struck with the thought to have their eyesight tested.
You follow that thought and discover that they need glasses, which helps explain why they've been struggling at school.
Rather than simply repeating the worries you already had, your intuition brought your attention to something unexpected. Of course, you'd still need to investigate the guidance, but it gave you a possibility you might otherwise have overlooked.
So a great way to check if it's your intuition is to take a moment to think about your guidance and ask yourself: do you know more about this situation than you logically should?
Your intuition is a sacred gift, and as you learn to connect to your intuition on a deeper level, you'll begin to recognise the many ways it can guide and support you.
And as you develop that trust in your own guidance, you'll find it becomes something you can turn to again and again.
